Pre 2 Little Bears: Conversations in English

On our first day back in school we had a fun time! We began a new story called “Dinosaur Dinner” by Sue Hendra.  The children then began to “draw” dinosaurs amongst other pictures in the salt trays. We had wonderful conversations in English about what we were doing and understood what our teacher was saying.

We used our fingers and sticks to make our pictures; helping to develop our hand-eye coordination and the control of our fine motor skills. We are beginning to make representations and developing our ability to form patterns and shapes, which is a pre-requisite to writing.

Even though we are only between the ages of two and three, we understand what our teacher is saying and some of us can talk to her about our picture. Here is a short video of the children having a conversation with her; displaying their understanding, following the theme of the conversation and developing their ability to speak in English.

We are so clever at speaking and listening!
